Good God! Olivier Rousteing gave the jet-setting party girls of the world what they want with his debut: the spring-summer 2012 ready-to-wear collection - minidresses that were drowning in gold, sequins, chains and studs, and little jackets with big, square shoulders. In the words of Rachel Zoe, “I die”. 

The trend-readiness of Balmain is just unstoppable!  Elements of Decarnin are still visible, with the shoulders—THE SHOULDERS!!—and all the decadent detailing, but Rousteing has delicately infused his own ideas of the modern Balmain woman…a little softer, a little classier, but still oh-so sexy.
